Why Our Department?
All wish their intellectual stimulation, develop rational thinking and the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of law. this is to improve their career prospects, whether in practice, academia or government service. The Department of Law LLM offers all of these opportunities. The LL.M Double Specialization programme is developed to integrate Indian and global perspectives on aspects of Corporate Law, International Trade, Intellectual Property Rights, Criminal Law and varied areas of law and emphasizes on an international, transnational and comparative approach to research in the aforementioned fields of law. The program aims to equip students with skills for global research enabling them to adapt, innovate and apply their knowledge to international legal issues. The programme offered is extremely rigorous with total credits of 80 and 2300 marks, which is the highest in the state. It is expected that the students will eventually become specialized legal practitioners, law academicians, engage in constructive legal research or enter the judicial services. other features of our Programme:
- To make the study of law relevant to social needs and encourage focused research, the Department has Clinical Legal Education in the curriculum.
- To spread legal awareness and to empower the marginalized communities Legal Aid Clinic and Legal Literacy Programs and many similar programs have been held by the Department.
- For practical insight into the working of law, students are made to participate in the weekly-held Wednesday Seminars which are conducted as a mandatory part of the curriculum.
- Dissertation and Research Projects (doctrinal & non-doctrinal) are a mandatory requirement for completion of the LLM programme.
